Bellator holds its first show in Japan on Saturday when it presents Bellator Japan: Fedor versus Frenzy from Saitama Super Arena. The occasion is featured by a heavyweight session between previous PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko and Quinton “Frenzy” Jackson. Jackson is an ex-PRIDE middleweight titleholder and a previous UFC light heavyweight champ. The battle card, Bellator 237, finishes off the year for the advancement.




Emelianenko resigned from MMA in 2012 with a record of 34-4-0-1. Three of those misfortunes came during a three-battle stretch in 2010-11 when Emelianenko was contending under the Strikeforce standard. The man many accept to be the best heavyweight in MMA history was 31-1-0-1 preceding being halted by Fabricio Werdum, Antonio Silva and Dan Henderson in three back to back battles. Since he came back to the enclosure in 2015, Emelianenko has a record of 4-2. His Bellator record during that stretch is 2-2. Emelianenko is falling off a 35-second knockout misfortune to two-division Bellator champion Ryan Bader in January.

Jackson worked with PRIDE from November 2001 through 2006. He joined the UFC in 2007 and remained with that advancement through 2013. Jackson battled out his UFC bargain in January 2013 and afterward marked with Bellator. The previous champ dropped his last three battles with the UFC. Since he joined Bellator, Jackson has gone 6-2. He lost choices to Muhammed Lawal and Chael Sonnen before he refocused with a knockout success over Wanderlei Silva in September 2018. Saturday’s occasion denotes Jackson’s first battle since he halted Silva in the second round.




Likewise on the card, previous three-time Bellator lightweight victor Michael Chandler comes back to activity just because since he lost his title to Patricio Freire in May. Chandler faces Sidney Outlaw, who is on a nine-battle series of wins. Ban is falling off a choice success over Roger Huerta in November.
